I am a philosopher of technology working at a technical university. Next to that I am a social scientist focused on the study of technology. Personally I find the split between the two unneccesary.

My main goal is to engage in empirical social research while simultaneously practicing speculative thinking. In my experience, combining this in a credible way is more difficult than it might look on first sight. In fact, true Visionary Thought will probably emerge from the synergy of the two.

I find the future studies program interesting because of its focus on speculative thinking and hope to meet people who want to discuss those matters.
